After appearing on the ‘Updated with Nelson Canlas’ podcast, netizens asked if “Primetime Queen” Marian Rivera would return to doing soap operas.
Nelson Canlas, the host of the podcast, asked Rivera when she’d make a comeback to the teleserye scene.
“I am asking this on behalf of all the Marian fans in the whole world. Kailan ka ba babalik ng teleserye?” he questioned.
Rivera said fans can expect her to be a fixture on TV once again next year.
The actress revealed, “By next year kasi, sana magawa na ‘yung isang project na gagawin ko, so definitely sana makita na nila ako. Sana matuloy itong project na ito. And then, may mga gagawin ako sa regional kaya abangan nila ako.”
Now that her children Zia and Sixto are seven and six years old respectively, Rivera can focus more on appearing in dramas. Rivera explained, “Medyo malalaki naman na si Sixto ‘tsaka si Zia so baka puwede naman umalis muna si Mama.”
However, Rivera’s main priority is still her children so she won’t be a full-time entertainer. She added, “Time management talaga is very important. Kaya sisiguraduhin kong maayos ‘yan.”
In addition to other topics, Canlas and Rivera talked about the actress’ advice on balancing her time as a wife, mother, businesswoman, and actress. Furthermore, she shared how she maintains a strong relationship with her husband, TV host-actor Dingdong Dantes.
Rivera currently hosts the weekly drama anthology ‘Tadhana’. She also appeared in the 2022 romantic comedy series “Jose & Maria’s Bonggang Villa” alongside her husband, “Primetime King” Dingdong Dantes. According to rumors, Rivera was going to co-star with Kim Seon Ho in a South Korean movie. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she decided to focus on “Jose and Maria’s Bonggang Villa” with her husband.
Netizens noticed that her career in entertainment was on a decline ever since she got married. The last movie she appeared in was “Fantastica,” an entry film at the 44th Metro Manila Film Festival in 2018 and it was only a cameo role. Her last television series was “Super Ma’am” which ended in the same year.
In 2018, Rivera announced that she had been set to star in a horror film, but had to back out after finding out she was pregnant.
Last year, the actress declined an opportunity to work on a project in South Korea for the sake of her children. The actress explained, “Kahit gusto ko, paano ang mga anak ko? There are some things you have to sacrifice. That’s why I was saying earlier that you have to know what your priorities are…you should know your biggest priority in life. Once you know what that is, things won’t be as hard. Time management is also important, of course. For me, before anything else, it’s my kids, my husband, and myself. That’s how it is right now.”
The actress concluded that Sunday is “family day”; they go to church, eat and play outside with the kids.
