At the media conference for ‘Dirty Linen’, which LionhearTV covered on January 17, actors Epy Quizon, Angel Aquino, and John Arcilla praised the series creatives for the substance of their characters.

Quizon highlighted that the actors in the series depend on the script and how their directors guide them.  He expressed, “Kudos sa scriptwriters because the meat and substance, or the character having [substance]– comes from a good concept, a very well-written script and directors who execute it properly–who [execute] the script [properly.]…so ‘yung characters namin, actually, we are very dependent with the script with how the director wants us to hit our units or [our] marks.”

On the other hand, Aquino emphasized the significance of the material or script they’re working on within the series.

“Sobrang importante ‘yung the material we’re working with kasi that’s– most of our job kumbaga, halos kaano– halos, a big part of our job is done kapag maganda ‘yung lines mo, maganda ‘yung script and then tapos sabayan mo pa ng director na who has a clear direction of how he wants to tell the story. Kumbaga alam na alam mo na kung saan ka pupunta.”

As for Arcilla, he noted the value of the script, directors, and actors working together in telling the story.

“Ang meat at para sa akin, ‘yung substance, kailangan magcollaborate ‘yung tatlo– writers will always manipulate the story and the character, directors can always control the storytelling, actors can control the story through his nuances and interpretation, kapag hindi nag-jive ang tatlong ‘yun, somewhere along the way, ‘yung substance and meat na magkakadiskaril.”

Directors Andoy Ranay and Onat Diaz acknowledged the actors’ roles in telling the story of their series.

“It’s a collaboration mag mula sa writers– alam ninyo ba na si Direk Deo ang nag-conceptualize nito, sa kaniya nagsimula ang germ ng kwento. So, from there, to the creative manager, lahat pati ‘yung writers, tapos pati sa amin, hanggang doon sa production staff, sa production design, sa damit, sa lahat, of course hanggang sa mga artista, it’s a collaboration,” said Ranay.

“I’m so touched by the words of others, kasi talagang each actors na nandito ngayon sa entablado na ito, are so gifted, sobrang laki ng talent nila, at ang maiaambag nila sa mga characters nila…individually, alam ko kung paano sila, ipupursige na maghanda sa mga characters nila. Kaya din ako pursigido to guide them properly,” Diaz added.

As for their series, ‘Dirty Linen’ stars Janine Gutierrez, Zanjoe Marudo, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin.

The teleserye also features an ensemble cast such as Jennica Garcia, Dolly De Leon, Janice de Belen, Joel Torre, Susan Africa, Tessie Tomas, Soliman Cruz, Quizon, Arcilla, Aquino, Tessie Tomas, JC Santos, Xyriel Manabat, Raven Rigor, and Christian Bables.

Other cast members include Aubrey Miles, Andrea Del Rosario, Karl Medina, Apey Obera, Tart Carlos, CJ Navato, Ana Abad Santos, Nanding Josef, and Rubi-Rubi.

‘Dirty Linen,’ directed by Andoy Ranay and Onat Diaz, premieres on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, Jeepney TV, A2Z, TV5, iWantTFC, and TFC on January 23.
