At the media conference for the upcoming Viva Films adaptation ‘Spellbound’, which LionhearTV covered on January 13, actress Bela Padilla revealed why she relocated to London, England.
Padilla said she wanted to finally “live her life” after 15 years of working in showbiz. The actress explained, “Siguro po, this is something that I’ve been discussing with Direk Jalz po noong start pa lang ng– hindi pa nagpa-pandemic. I really wanted to, I guess in a way– live my life, finally. Parang, I dedicated the last 15 years of my life, [you know–] trying and shooting.”
She then recounted how much hard work she put into her career as an actress, writer, and filmmaker.
“…because I kept living my characters’ lives, especially in the last few years, noong I guess my career was, you know, starting to pick up, parang I just felt na ‘yun nga, I didn’t fully live my life…parang alam ninyo naman po, when I do my films, hindi lang ako sumasama sa tech, hindi lang ako sa– kung artista ako sa isang project, hindi naman parang doon lang ako shooting days involved…pati Marketing, minsan, I asked if I could help out– I [asked] what I could do, so I’m very involved with my project.”
She then shared her realization, amid the pandemic, that her life was passing her by.
She revealed that one day, during the pandemic, she woke up realizing that she needed to seize the opportunity to discover herself and truly live. She admitted that when she left the country to move to London she had time to think.
According to the actress, riding her bike to her favorite bakery in a foreign country was a simple part of her daily life.
Padilla stars in ‘Spellbound’, the Philippine version of the 2011 Korean thriller, with Viva actor Marco Gumabao.
The cast also features a riveting cast with Rhen Escaño, Cindy Miranda, Benj Manalo, Ronnie Liang, and Moi Bien.
‘Spellbound’, directed by Jalz Zarate, hits theaters on February 1st.
