Known for their frankness, the two actresses didn’t hesitate to share their thoughts via a vlog entry about their co-workers and TV shows on GMA Network.
Aiko Melendez and Beauty Gonzalez have been in show business for quite a while now. Both have appeared in numerous TV shows and movies.
Before the latter moved to GMA Network in 2021, their respective shows even got pitted against each other in the same time slot. This year, they formed a formidable pair via the primetime mini-series, The Flower Sisters, which is the third installment of the Regal Entertainment-produced anthology series, Mano Po Legacy.
Now that their show is down to its last few episodes on air, the two actresses, along with their co-stars, Isabel Rivas and Thea Tolentino, had some sort of a send-off party together, where they talked about their fellow stars, past shows, and other intriguing tidbits about their showbiz lives.
In a vlog by actress-politician, Melendez, she and her fellow female co-stars tried to answer some of those intriguing questions, one of which is whether they have co-stars who are virtually unknown to casual audiences.
“Sino sa mga katrabaho nating artista sa Mano Po ang pinaka hindi kilala ng mga tao (Who do you think among our Mano Po co-stars are the least popular)?” said Melendez as she read one of the questions, aloud.
“Ang dami (there’s a lot),” blurted Gonzalez. Tolentino, who was by her side, gave her a look of surprise.
“Oo nga eh, di ko kilala ang mga bata? (That’s actually true. I don’t know the name of the kids),” agreed seasoned actress, Rivas.
When one of the members of the behind-the-camera staff asked the actresses to name those co-stars they think the audience may not be familiar with, Melendez has this to say: “Pangalanan namin? Eh hindi nga namin kilala, paano papangalanan? (You want us to name them? We don’t even know them ourselves, how are we gonna name them?),” she said, which made the whole room filled with chuckles.
On Twitter, netizens gave fun reactions to Melendez’s vlog, noting her and Beauty Gonzalez’s “brutal” honesty. Some, however, gave pretty sensible reasons why many of the show’s stars are yet to become household names or popular like Melendez or Gonzalez.
Madami sa mga cast ng MPL are NEW as in NEW talaga! Regal studio is making new artist which they are known for. Most of the new artist have potential AND VERY PROMISING! and si Regal talagang ni tratrain nila sila.
Kaya wag bigyan ng meaning yung clip.

“Lumayo pa sila. Sino ba ‘yung katabi ni Beauty?,“ asked Mylow, who doesn’t seem to recognize Thea Tolentino, the youngest in the group.
