Have you heard of the Wiko brand?
Wiko is, indeed, a new phone brand in the Philippines. Wiko is a French smartphone manufacturer that was established in 2011. Wiko has released the Wiko T10, a low-cost phone that can do more and is worth purchasing.
UNBOXING
When you open the package, you’ll find the unit, warranty and quick start guide papers, a sim ejector pin, a USB type C cable, and a 10W power brick.
DESIGN
The unit comes in black color with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The device has a unique kind of classy design for a budget phone. It feels compact in hands but slightly slippery. The back is made of plastic with a gradient pattern design.
On the left side are the volume and power buttons, while on the right side is the sim card slot. The Sim card tray supports two nano sim cards and one micro SD card for extra storage.
Going to the bottom, there are the 3.5mm audio jack port, microphone hole, speaker grille, and USB type c port for charging and data transferring while nothing is on the top part.
DISPLAY
The display is pretty straightforward. It has a 6.5 inch LCD display with a 1600 x 720 resolution with a dewdrop notch design which they called Edgeless Dewdrop display. It has thicker bezels and a chin. The display is large, the color quality is decent and the brightness is enough but not friendly under direct bright sunlight.
SOFTWARE
Running on the Wiko T10 is Android 11 Go Edition. Since this phone only has 2GB of RAM, it runs a lightweight version of Android and includes Go apps like Google Go and Assistant Go.
No bloatware apps installed. The software and the basic hardware work together to produce convincing performance. It continues to be reliable and runs without a hitch.
PERFORMANCE
It uses the MediaTek Helio A22 processor. It has a larger-than-usual storage capacity of 128GB which is especially useful for some apps that consume more storage space.
There is a microSD card slot available for expanding your storage for storing more files.
It is perfectly adequate for basic tasks like messaging, voice and video calls, and social media apps. Expect this phone to run only one or two apps reliably.
BATTERY
The phone can go through a day and more, it has a 5000mah battery capacity that can really last long. Using it for some basic tasks such as texting, watching videos, and reading daily content is solid, it can get you more battery backup.
The smartphone can be fully charged in less than 3 hours using the 10W power brick, but because this phone has a USB-C port, you can use both new and old chargers with the same port.
CAMERA
The device has a 13MP main on the back. Photos taken by this phone are of good quality with decent details. You can rely on it to capture those priceless memories in photographs. However, don’t take creative shots in a dark environment because this camera requires a lot of light for it to produce good-quality output.
The 5MP front-facing camera takes decent selfies.
Overall, they are simply decent cameras that will complete your essential capturing tasks.
CONCLUSION
This does not change the fact that the Wiko T10 is a “budget phone”.
The overall package is adequate for a first-time phone purchaser. If you’re looking for a phone with a lot of features, this isn’t it.
The Wiko T10 is available in their official retail and e-commerce stores.
