Kapamilya stars and celebrities Vice Ganda, Ivana Alawi, and Nadine Lustre proved to be true box-office hitters as they usher in moviegoers to the cinemas this Christmas 2022.
Ganda, Alawi, and Lustre are the lead stars of the MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival) movies Partners in Crime and Deleter, which are currently topping the unofficial list of box office top performers.
Partners in Crime made 30 million in first-day box office receipts, while Deleter made 10 million on its first day.
The MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority), which manages MMFF 2022, expressed delight at its current box-office results.
In an interview with ABS-CBN on Monday, December 26, MMDA acting chairman Atty. Romando Artes stated that they are very happy with the current results of the MMFF movies. They hoped that moviegoers would continue to support the eight films until January 7, the last day of MMFF film showings.
Artes said, “Labis naming ikinagagalak ang suportang ipinamamalas ng publiko sa MMFF, base sa mahahabang pila sa mga sinehan hindi lamang dito sa Metro Manila kundi sa Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao.”
He furthered, “Kasama ang buong pamunuan ng Metro Manila Film Festival, taos-puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng tumangkilik sa walong pelikulang bahagi ng MMFF 2022….hiling namin ang patuloy na suporta ng publiko hanggang sa pagtatapos ng MMFF sa January 7.”
The MMDA acting chairman concluded, “Sa pamamagitan nito ay matutulungan natin ang unti-unting pagbangon ng industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino na labis na naapektuhan ng COVID-19 pandemic. Muli, maraming salamat sa lahat at mabuhay ang pelikulang Pilipino.”
