On December 13, comedian-host Vice Ganda attested to the fact that Star Cinema would never allow content with no form and substance.
At the media conference for ‘Partners in Crime’ which LionhearTV covered, Vice affirmed the Kapamilya production company’s commitment to quality films.
According to Vice Ganda, “Everything is very essential. Form and substance. Kasi unang-una naman, ako actor ako sa pelikula pero hindi ako ‘yung nagdedesisyon. Star Cinema would never allow a content without form and substance.”
He then discussed how people could relate to his character in Partners in Crime. He shared, “That’s very easy, actually. It’s [very] easy to identify, to relate to my role, with my character, and the story itself. Kasi, it’s–kapag napanood ninyo na, it’s everyone’s story. [This] is your story. [This] is our story.”
He mentioned that their Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 film highlights the narrative of Filipinos who are trying to provide for their families. Vice Ganda said, “Pamilya ‘to ng napakaraming Filipino na nagkukumahog, nagpapakamatay, nagsasakripisyo sa pagtra-trabaho, para sa mga taong mahal na mahal nila. Istorya ‘to ng napakaraming breadwinners. Istorya ‘to ng napakaraming OFWs. Istorya ‘to ng mga taong pagod na pagod na pero hindi sila pwedeng huminto o hindi nila alam kung kailan at kung papaano sila hihinto. Istorya natin ‘tong lahat. Dahil sa ngayon, lahat tayo feeling ko, nararanasan natin ‘to.”
He then hinted at the possible storylines that cinemagoers could identify with in the future.
As for his upcoming MMF2022 film, Vice Ganda stars in ‘Partners in Crime’ with Ivana Alawi.
Directed by Cathy-Garcia Molina, the Star Cinema film premieres on December 25, Christmas Day.
