The beautiful 45-year-old actress shared her excitement for another year of doing projects in film and television.
At the Surge Masquerade Ball, last December 6, Sunshine Cruz expressed excitement for 2023, as it will be a busy year with new projects in both television and film. She noted her upcoming TV series with GMA Network, the TV adaptation of the 1980’s classic Underage. The series stars young talents Elijah Alejo, Hailey Mendes, and Lexi Gonzales.
“Ngayong January, I have a teleserye with GMA. ‘Yung Underage with Snooky Serna, and tatlong bata ito na anak ko sa iba’t ibang lalaki.
“(I do have a TV series and it’s coming in January on GMA. It’s called ‘Underage’, with Snooky Serna. I play the role of a mother with three daughters from different men),” she shared, noting that in real life, she actually has three daughters, namely Sam, Angelina, and Cheska.
The actress also excitedly share that she has three upcoming movies, one of which will premiere on the streaming platform, Vivamax.
“I also have three indie films. Actually ‘yung isa abangan niyo, it will be on Vivamax, ” she added. Asked if it would be sexy, “Abangan n’yo na lang (just watch it).”
She quipped, but later, confirmed that it is a bit sexy than she usually does these days.
The said film is called An Affair to Forget, and is streaming on Vivamax since December 23. In the film, she starred along with the multi-awarded actor Allen Dizon. Louie Ignacio directed the film.
Cruz shared that she has been meaning to make a crosssover from mainstream to indie, and that her three upcoming movies made that come true.
“I have one with Jay Altajeros called ‘Pamilya Sa Dilim’, kasama ko si Therese Malvar. Dito naman sa An Affair to Forget, asawa ko si Allen. Sa Pamilya sa Dilim naman, kapatid ko si Allen, and it’s also with Laurice Guiilen. So ‘yun yung mga tinanggap ko.
“(I have an upcoming film with Therese Malvar called ‘Pamilya Sa Dilim’, directed by Jay Altajeros. In An Affair to Forget, Allen Dizon plays as my husband, but in Pamilya Sa Dilm, he’s my brother. We also have Laurice Guillen in the cast. Those are the projects I accepted),” she said, noting the films are already set for showing next year.
“There’s another one, ‘Greatest Performance’, and iba rin. Kakaiba rin.”
Cruz said that while work has been relentlessly making her busy, she does not complain because she feels blessed.
“I’ve been very, very busy…and blessed—not complaining! Kaya wala akong dapat ireklamo kasi nabi-blessed ako sa mga anak ko, with projects, endorsements, and we’re all healthy”, she noted, citing her being Surge Fitness and Lifestyle new product ambassador, as one of those many blessings.
