It was revealed on December 8 that President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. is a talented chef.
At the media conference for ‘Pinakbest’ book launch, which LionhearTV covered, the senator asserted that PBBM is arguably the “best cook” in their family. She exclaimed, “Bongbong is actually arguably the best cook in the family.”
She then cited PBBM’s pasta and gumbo specialties. The lady senator shared, “He thinks he’s a Medici or at least did for a period in life. So he has Pasta e Fagioli, which he loves and [which] I love also because it became a standard piece–it’s standard na in our ulam. He also makes good Gumbo. For some weird reason, the Anguiette Sausages are available in Paway, Ilocos Norte. Don’t ask me.”
Aside from her brother’s hidden talent in cooking, Sen. Imee Marcos also discussed their family’s holiday meal traditions.
She shared, “I’m cooking by mouth now, I’m so busy. I make utos-utos to everybody, but as a general rule, roundabout Christmas, we all have to cook, well, because I’m stuck at home and I have three boys. I have three [very large] boys, and you know how much they eat. So I have this giant six foot, six-three, six-two, they’re all so tall, and they’re all so matakaw. So I end up having to feed them.”
She also mentioned that everyone in the family complains about her portioning; she isn’t very proficient at measurements at all. She also admits that she is a “gangster” at cooking.”
As for Sen. Imee Marcos’s book, ‘PinakBest’ is currently available for pre-order for P598.00.
The book containing the Marcos family’s recipes, with notes from Chef Reggie Aspiras, becomes available on December 14. There will be a signing event in San Juan City for those who ordered in advance.
