She said that what matters most about people is their attitude and their behavior toward others.
“You know what, madam, miss or, hindi ko alam kung paano kita i-aaddress. You know what, you can be the most expensive-looking person but if you’re mean or rude, or the way you think or talk to people is not right, I don’t think na I want to be somebody like you.
“Ako, I’m proud of myself. I’m proud kung paano ako manamit, kung paano ako magsalita, kung paano ako makikapwa tao.
“At baka isipin nyo po na shini-shame ko kayo because of your age, but hindi po ganon. But I hope, sa edad n’yo pong ‘yan, marami na kayong natutunan sa buhay. And you should be a good example to your family, to your kids, to your apo kung meron ka na po. Dahil hindi ganyan dapat mag-act sa social media.”
Mateo then apologized for looking cheap, but said she would never have a bad attitude like the netizen who criticized her.
“Marami na po kayong pinagdaanan sa buhay, I’m sure of that. And sana you chose to be a good person na makaka-inspire ng ibang tao ‘di ba? Pero sige, bigay ko na lang po ‘yon sa inyo. If I look cheap, pasensya na po. Pero I will never be somebody like you.”
After MUP, Rabiya Mateo entered the showbiz industry. She currently has a talk show with GMA network TiktoClock. She was also a host in NCAA Season 98: Achieve Greatness Every Day – Opening Ceremony.
