At the media conference of Labyu with an Accent on November 30, award-winning actress Nova Villa recalled her 38-year experience working in ABS-CBN.
Villa’s return to the Kapamilya Network prompted a nostalgic feeling in her.
“Ano, 38 years ako dito. Yeah, of course naman no? Anytime, pwede naman ako pumasok dito. Anak din naman ako ng ABS-[CBN].
“Kaya noong pumasok ako dito kanina, tuwang-tuwa ako, ‘hay, ito ‘yung studio ko, nasaan na ‘yung picture ko dito. Nasa hallway.’
“Oo, it feels good to be back.”
She explained that her current contract with GMA Network only limited her access to TV projects but not to movies.
“Ano naman ‘yun TV, pag-movie, siyempre may contract ‘yun.”
Villa worked on various Kapamilya projects such as Chica, Chica, Chicks, and Palibhasa Lalaki. One of her note-worthy roles is Azon Madamba in Home Along Da Riles from 1992 to 2003 with the comedy king Dolphy Quizon.
She then started working with GMA Network projects in 2011. She became one of their artists in 2014, in which she starred in several Kapuso shows such as Vampire ang Daddy Ko, Kambal Sirena, and Pepito Manoloto.
As for their Metro Manila Film Festival Entry, Labyu with an Accent, she stars with lead actors Coco Martin and Jodi Sta Maria. Also in the cast are Joross Gamboa, Rochelle Pangilinan, Nikki Valdez, Jay Gonzaga, Rafael Rosell, Manuel Chua, Nash Aguas, Marc Solis, John Medina, Bassilyo, and Sancho Vito.
Catch its movie premiere with other MMFF 2022 entries this Christmas day, December 25.
