On December 28, Mamasapano: Now It can be Told producer Atty Ferdinand Topacio flaunted the awards his film earned at Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 Gab ng Parangal, while picking on Vice Ganda’s Partners in Crime.
Via Twitter, Topacio listed the nominations and awards Mamasapano received, such as the 2nd Best Picture, Best Screenplay, FPJ Memorial Award, and Best Original Theme Song. He also criticized Vice Ganda’s comedy film.
Good afternoon, kakampwets. Ano pong sabi ninyo, basura 'ika ninyo ang MAMASAPANO? Eh kumusta yung movie ng kabayo ninyo? 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/nxYN7fBkis

Aside from his comments, he also addressed people calling for a boycott of their film Mamasapano; and acknowledged other films on the MMFF 2022 roster, especially Deleter which won seven awards. He chided film critics, who supposedly did not know anything about filmmaking.
Katawa mga kakampwet mag-comment about Mamasapano. Mga ulalo, passion ko lang po ang filmmaking. Butal lang po ng pera ko yung ginagastos ko. In fact, may next movie na ako (Spring In Prague) with Paolo Gumabao. Kaya, pwet ninyong mgq yellow/pink. 🤣🤣🤣

Good morning, guys. For horror/thriller fans, aside from NANANAHIMIK ANG GABI (where Heaven Parelajo was fantastic), I would heartily recommend DELETER. A well-crafted movie with an excellent performance from Nadine Lustre, whom I called "the greatest actress of her generation".

The (il)logic of kakampwets (using classical syllogism):
They like Deleter dahil maganda daw (which is true, btw);
Deleter got a lot of awards from MMFF;
Pangit daw ang Mamasapano;
But it also got a lot of awards from MMFF.
So tama ang MMFF sa Deleter pero mali sa Mamasapano?

Dami na namang movie "critics" na ulalo who have never written a movie review (and especially not for a major broadsheet), who don't know the first thing about movie-making, will never ever make a movie (even a short) and who cannot even write well. Tsk tsk. 😂

Despite Topacio’s comments, Partners in Crime received positive responses from moviegoers on social media.
Aside from the positive feedback, according to unofficial reports, the Vice Ganda MMFF 2022 film entry also got the top spot for the highest-grossing film in this year’s MMFF.
