On December 22, director Lino Cayetano confirmed that he wants to work with KC Concepcion.
At a dinner interview with Nanahimik ang Gabi creatives, Cayetano noted that he wants to work with Concepcion and other Filipino artists to represent the showbiz industry.
“I think oo, gusto naming maka-trabaho si KC, gusto naming makatrabaho– ang daming mga– when we went to Singapore to represent the Philippines, parang sabi namin sa kanila, madami pa kayong hindi nakikilala.”
Cayetano and Concepcion dated in 2007, but they parted in the same year.
He then recounted the recent success of Filipino filmmakers and artists internationally.
“Ang galing ng mga Filipino, and we’re so excited to continue doing– to carry the platform with other Filipino actors. Si Arjo, nakilala na ng buong mundo di ba? Dahil sa he won the Bagman, he won the Asian Academy Awards. Sila Direk Ruel, Ruel Bayani ng ABS, they brought Cattleya Killer to Cannes, in France, ang daming nagulat na gawang Filipino ‘to sabi nga namin, ang daming magaling dito.”
He also noted Rein Entertainment’s plan with a Singapore-based production company for an upcoming project.
“Part of the trip in Singapore, wasn’t only ‘yung Asian Academy Creative Awards, pero na-invite ‘yung movie ni Philip [King] sa Asian TV forum, it’s called elevator. Tungkol naman sa mga millenial or Gen Z na OFW. Kaya medyo interesting, isang elevator boy na nagtratrabaho sa isang Casino complex na-in love, parang pretty woman.
“We’re looking to shoot in Singapore with Filipinos, tsaka kalahati ng kwento sa elevator nagka-in love an. And then, ‘yung ibang cast niya, ibang nationality rin. We’re looking at a Singapore co-production.”
In the meantime, the film Nanahamik ang Gabi, their Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 entry, stars Ian Veneracion, Heaven Peralejo, and Mon Confiado. Produced by Lino Cayetano and Philip King through Rein Entertainment and written and directed by Shugo Praico, Nanahimik ang Gabi opens on December 25, Christmas Day.
