Even more festive decorations await families and friends in Capitol Commons, where the Illuminated Path and Christmas Food Bazaar liven up the streets in Christmas hues.
This year is the last chance to witness the classic Ortigas Christmas experience as a fresh and exciting revamp of the light musical tunnel is in store for the next holiday season. In collaboration with renowned lighting designer Voltaire De Jesus, Ortigas Land is at work to mount bigger and brighter installations for 2023 to spread the festive spirit and be an avenue for heartwarming Yuletide traditions.
Dashing through the lights: Ortigas East Christmas Street Light Musical Tunnel
Stretching across Ortigas East, the Stevie Award-winning and photo-op worthy installation has been a staple in the Christmas festivities of Ortigas since 2018. In an interview, De Jesus provided a glimpse into his design process. Gathering inspiration during a trip abroad, De Jesus shared what makes the Christmas Street Light Musical Tunnel special.
“What makes the tunnel of lights here different is that the lights we used have infinite colors and can be programmed to whatever movement and color desired, it also changes with the music. Another difference is that the music we play is specifically made for the tunnel of lights and these are arranged by Filipino arrangers.”
The Christmas Street Light Musical Tunnel will shimmer from November 4, 2022 to January 8, 2023, 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The light tunnel will be redesigned for next year, so catch the award-winning installment before the end of the holidays! But fret not, the public can look forward to more from Ortigas Land and De Jesus in the coming years.
Walking in a shining wonderland: Capitol Commons Illuminated Path
A newer addition to the Ortigas Christmas installations, the Illuminated Path is a more modest yet equally enchanting lights display perfect for those who love to stroll around the Estancia area.
De Jesus highlights the Illuminated Path’s versatility as it will also be utilized for other special occasions. He notes an example, “The beauty of it is, say it’s currently Christmas. So the images that we project are related to the holidays. Then in February, if it’s Valentine’s day, we project images related to the occasion too.”
The Illuminated Path will sparkle from November 15, 2022 to January 8, 2023, 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. A fireworks display will also greet visitors every 7:00 PM on the following dates: December 3, 10, 17, 25, and January 1.
All I want for Christmas is food: Christmas Food Bazaars at Ortigas East and Capitol Commons
The holidays are never complete without a feast! After shopping, walking around, and visiting the Christmas installments, one may grow hungry and need to recharge. To satisfy those food cravings, Ortigas East and Capitol Commons have you covered with easily-accessible Christmas Food Bazaars where families and friends can explore different stalls with scrumptious meals and relax with views of the light displays.
The Ortigas East Christmas Food Bazaar will be available from November 4, 2022 to January 8, 2023, Friday to Sunday, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Meanwhile, the Capitol Commons Christmas Food Bazaar will be available from November 15, 2022 to January 8, 2023, Friday to Sunday, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
