Starring in the upcoming Singaporean film, King of Hawkers, the Kapuso star hopes the opportunity to make a career on the international stage will also be made available to other Kapuso stars.
Kimson Tan admits that even though he has just started his showbiz career, he is already at a point where he wants to try everything. Although, of course, starring in a film outside the country, isn’t something that is frequently granted to a newbie, Kimson is fortunate enough to land a role, that most of his contemporaries in GMA Network can only dream of.
The producers of the film, King of Hawkers, themselves, had Tan as their “first choice” to play the role. That alone speaks volumes of how big a deal this film must be to the Chinito star, who just signed his first contract with GMA Sparkle last December 2.
Tan said, “I’m in the stage of my acting career kung saan gusto kong I-try lahat. Parang lahat po ng role, lahat ng ibigay po sa akin ng GMA, is magawa ko po at masubukan.”
In pursuing this new chapter of his life, the young actor did not forget to pay tribute to his home network, GMA Network, for having his back as he push forward in his international endeavor. He expressed, “I am really happy and thankful sa buong network ko, GMA, and of course sa management ko, Sparkle GMA and sa AOR Group na rin. They really made my dream come true. Kumbaga, ‘yung pangarap ko unti unti ko nang nakikita, nagbubukas na ‘yung daan para makamit ko siya.”
He hopes that the same chance and opportunity to fly to Singapore and do a collaboration will be given to other GMA artists as well.
Tan concluded, “For sure, I’ll give my best in Singapore, and one-month training will be so hard, but it’s all gonna be worth it when the film comes out,”
Tan assured as he expressed his excitement to fly to Singapore next year, to commence his workshops and training for the film, as well as the beginning of its production.
