At the media conference for Laruan, which LionhearTV covered on November 24, Viva artist Franki Russell shared her views about cheating partners in a relationship.
Russell maintained how cheating, and infidelity would spoil the trust between lovers.
“No, it just spoils the trust, di ba? I think, from then on, everything changes, but it’s hard kasi pagdating dito sa Philippines, the culture is very we forgive, but I think for me, I couldn’t look at the person the same or I would– I don’t know revenge, I don’t know. I think for me, it would just become so toxic.”
She then confessed to having trust issues, especially with other people’s intentions.
“I think same here. I have a lot trust– I feel like a lot of women have trust issues, and I think it’s hard to know what people’s intentions are sometimes and if they mean what they’re saying. And specifically, I don’t know how to say it without– I’ve been lied to a lot.”
Despite her experiences, Russell remains forgiving and optimistic.
“Yeah, I feel really strongly about forgive and forget. I’m [kind] of an optimistic person. I don’t want to have any bad feelings. So if things don’t work out, you move forward, and don’t hold on, don’t have a heavy heart.”
As for getting toyed by someone else, she cited her encounter with a failed past relationship.
“I’ve never played anyone intentionally, no. Have I been played? Yeah, for sure– I think it’s hard to date in the Philippines.
“I think the best way is to focus on yourself and move on.”
The suspense-filled Vivamax film also features Viva stars Ava Mendez, Kiko Estrada, and Jay Manalo. Laruan, directed by Yam Laranas, opens via Vivamax Plus on December 12 and streams through Vivamax on December 16.
