On Thursday, December 15, Boy Abunda officially signed a contract with his first home network, where executives and authorities welcomed him at the gala contract signing event held at GMA Network in Quezon City.
During his press conference at Astoria Plaza, Pasig City on December 15, GMA senior vice president for entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, was asked if Abunda will eventually have an executive position in the Network.
“Tanong natin sa boss ko,” Rasonable giggled.
Abunda replied to the question by narrating how the book, The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch inspired him to do more.
He shared the plot of the book.
“When he was supposed to do that lecture, instead of lecturing something he discovered as a rocket scientist, he lectured on life. He lectured on love. He lectured on how it is to be a pilot because the time he was chosen to do the last lecture, he was dying.”
The crowd got silenced and wowed by what the multi-awarded TV host shared.
Abunda added “‘Yon ‘yong inspirasyon.”
Moreover, he admitted that the lesson from that book inspired him to do more with his journey.
“Sabi ko ‘Uy, maganda ‘yon,’ I’d like to be able to contribute to an engagement like that.”
