Boy Abunda revealed that he faced challenges during his farewell on ABS-CBN and negotiation with GMA Network. The former Kapamilya King of Talk signed a deal with GMA Network on December 15.
“Goodbyes are hard for real in any language,” Boy stressed.
He said that as an icon, he doesn’t want to hurt anyone in the industry.
Abunda stated, “Nakipag-usap ako nang mahusay, nagpaalam ako nang mahusay, at nagbabalik ako nang mahusay.”
On Thursday, December 15, the country’s ‘King of Talk’ formally re-joined Kapuso through a contract signing at the network’s headquarters in Quezon City.
He admitted that there is also difficulty in his negotiation with GMA Network because of the interference of the COVID pandemic.
“‘Yong negotiation namin sa GMA 7 was difficult… inabutan kami ng COVID kasi just to be very clear, we started talking pre-COVID pa ‘to.”
He went on to say that GMA Network had reached out to him long before the COVID-19 pandemic.
