On December 26, netizens laughed off showbiz veteran Cristy Fermin and her Showbiz Now Na co-hosts for downplaying Vice Ganda’s efforts for his upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 entry, Partners in Crime.
Via Twitter, singer and former iDolls member Lukas Garcia retweeted a post calling out the claims made by the Showbiz Now Na hosts, disproving their theory that Vice’s film wouldn’t succeed in the MMFF 2022.

Despite the claims of seasoned showbiz reporters, Partners In Crime and Deleter gave new life to the cinema industry with their high earnings based on the unofficial list of box office top performers as these two Filipino films ushered Pinoy moviegoers into MMFF 2022.
Partners in Crime, directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and starring Vice Ganda and Ivana Alawi, didn’t receive any awards from MMFF2022 Gabi ng Parangal, but Alawi got nominated as best actress against Nadibe Lustre for Deleter and Heaven Peralejo for Nanahik and Gabi.
The film’s lighthearted comedic theme remained a blockbuster hit thanks to its earnings and support from Filipino moviegoers.
