At a media conference for the Start-Up PH cast in Davao, which LionhearTV covered on December 4, Kapuso actor Alden Richards admitted that he tried to convince Bea Alonzo to transfer to GMA Network.
Before, Richards joked with Alonzo about switching networks.
He then discussed accepting the role in Start-Up PH because of Alonzo.
The actor shared, “Yung tanging nagpa-yes lang sa akin sa project was it was Bea’s first project and it was my first time working with her. Of course with Yasmien and Jeric and all the other cast na parang ito ‘yung– naririnig ko na po ‘yung concept ng Start-Up na nabili nga ‘yung license ni GMA [Network], but hindi ko naman po inasahan na sa akin ibibigay ‘yung role.”
He then cited how he relates to his character in the series. The main character, Tristan Hernandez is a venture capitalist who funds Start-Ups for dreamers.
Richards explained, “So ‘yun din, because yung nangyayari sa buhay ni Tristan ngayon, is the future that I want for myself, minus the negativity kasi medyo masungit po talaga ‘tong character ko. Medyo moody tapos straight to the point na hindi na siya naiintindihan, na nami-misinterpret na siya because of the words that’s coming out of his mouth.”
Start-Up PH stars Alden Richards, Bea Alonzo,Yasmien Kurdi, and Jeric Gonzales.
Viewers of the Kapuso adaptation of the Korean series, which airs weeknights at 8:50 p.m. on GMA, 11:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. every Friday on GTV, can expect more.
