Host-model Kat Alano became emotional after TV host Vhong Navarro was released from detention for ₱1-M bail in his rape case.
Navarro was released at 6 p.m. on December 5 from Taguig City Jail, where he got detained since November. Rape is a non-bailable offense in the Philippines, but the TV host got his temporary liberty.
Kat Alano tweeted that same day about her dissatisfaction with the country’s justice system.
I feel sick.
This is so wrong.
It’s all wrong.
Bahala na kayo Pilipinas. You deserve what you asked for.
Sana hindi mangyari sa inyo to.
It’s a nightmare that keeps going. Evil wins.

In a separate tweet, Alano also shared that she is losing hope.
I can’t stop crying.
I feel broken and defeated.
Ayaw ko na talaga.

In 2014, model Deniece Cornejo filed a rape case against Vhong Navarro that got dismissed in 2018 and 2020. However, the Court of Appeals reversed the decision earlier this year.
In 2020, Alano also claimed that Navarro raped her after she opened up about being raped by a celebrity whose name rhymes with “wrong.”
