In a press conference on November 5, Star Cinema marketing executive Mico del Rosario explained why Maja Salvador will only play a minor role in ABS-upcoming CBN’s action-drama The Iron Heart.
Del Rosario explained, “It’s a special role. And we felt that for that special role, we need a special woman. We know that Maja is very busy, she has a lot of engagements and we’re so happy that she accepted that role.”
Salvador plays the childhood friend and love interest of “Apollo”, a role portrayed by Richard Gutierrez.
The actress revealed that Gutierrez thanked her a couple of times for accepting the special role in the series because they have tried to team up before in other projects, but with no luck.
Salvador also commended the dedication of the actor, “Nung nandun ako sa Cebu, nakita ko kung gaano ka passionate si Chard gawin itong project na ito. Talaga namang ‘pag napanood niyo ang ‘Iron Heart’ masasabing niyong ibang Richard Gutierrez ito.”
The upcoming series marks Salvador’s return to ABS-CBN.
The actress was last seen in The Killer Bride, which won the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2020 for Best Telenovela. In 2021, Salvador worked with TV5 on the TV series Niña Niño. She also joined GMA’s noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga’ as one of the hosts in July 2022.
Last year as well, Salvador left Star Magic to launch her own artist management company, Crown Artist Management. Some of her talents are John Lloyd Cruz and Miles Ocampo.
Despite her special participation in the new Kapamilya series, the actress will remain visible on both GMA-7 and TV-5, where she has ongoing shows at the moment.
‘The Iron Heart’ will premiere on November 14 via ABS-CBN.
