It’s November, which can only mean one thing for Filipinos: it’s almost time to claim your best Christmas station IDs, as major networks GMA Network and ABS-CBN will soon debut their song of the season.
On October 24, ABS-CBN executives appeared on ‘It’s Showtime’ and casually revealed the company’s theme for its traditional Christmas ID, wearing blue, green, and red shirts with the print, “Tayo ang Ligaya ng Isa’t Isa,” with stars replacing an ‘A’ of each word.
In a news story by TV Patrol on October 26, a snippet of the most awaited station I.D. was revealed, featuring Kapamilya stars: Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Martin Nievera, Sharon Cuneta, KZ Tandingan, Angeline Quinto, Anne Curtis, Chito Miranda, Darren Espanto, Jolina Magdangal, Klarisse de Guzman, Jane De Leon, Janella Salvador, AC Bonifacio, Khimo Gumatay, Anji Salvacion, Kyle Echarri, Andrea Brillantes, KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad (KDLex), Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel), Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano (DonBelle), Seth Fedelin and Francine Diaz (FranSeth).
According to the creatives behind this year’s station ID, ABS-CBN’s theme is to spark gratitude despite the obstacles that most people have endured this season.
The official launch of ABS-CBN’s station ID lyric video is on the 11th of November after the primetime newscast TV Patrol.
Meanwhile, on October 23, GMA 7 dropped its official lyric video for ‘Love is Us This Christmas,’ its holiday anthem of the year.
The Kapuso jingle was performed by Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose, Mark Bautista, Aicelle Santos, Maricris Garcia, Christian Bautista, Zephanie, ‘The Clash’ Grand Champions Jeremiah Tiangco and Mariane Osabel, and The Clash alumni Anthony Rosaldo, Garrett Bolden, Thea Astley, Vilmark Viray, as well as XOXO’s Lyra Micolob, Mel Caluag, and Dani Ozaraga.
During the holiday season, GMA’s station ID emphasizes that sharing your heart to make others happy is the true meaning of love.
Whichever station ID will be your anthem of the year, both networks are here to remind their viewers that Christmas is all about giving love and practicing gratitude.
