At the cast reveal for the upcoming series The Rain in España on November 3, Marco Gallo and Heaven Peralejo talked about the possibility of the series boosting their careers like James Reid and Nadine Lustre.
Gallo acknowledged the impact of the upcoming series on their careers, but he maintained that he is different from Reid.
“I mean, it definitely came to our mind–if this was going to help us in our careers.
“I was sharing with her that in this past year–this industry. I’ve learned that one of the /biggest/ learning in this industry is not to expect, but it’s okay to hope.
“I got hurt by that because I used to expect a lot, and it wouldn’t go the way. I think, especially during the pandemic–helped both of us to really take it day by day and work on what we have today and don’t care /really about tomorrow. We just do our best in the present.
“I’m not James Reid– I’m Marco Gallo. That’s the point.”
Peralejo pointed out the value of their fans in the success of their careers and projects.
“So ‘yun nga po, kanina nag-uusap kami doon, sabi ko, ‘My God, ito na ‘yung presscon na–ay story con na.’ Sabi ko, ‘Ay Marco, this is it.’ Pero hindi ko ina-anticipate, hindi ko ie-expect na ganon.
“Kasi, parang iba ‘to, hindi naman ‘to ‘yung show na ‘yun eh. This is a new show, a new story, and sa fans– ‘yung fans talaga ang magbibigay ng ligaya sa amin. Kung magugustuhan nila, sobrang matutuwa talaga kami.”
Gallo and Peralejo also shared their reactions to working with each other again after six years.
“Lahat kami kanina parang kabang-kaba. So sinasabi ko sa kanila na, ‘Yo, this is our year, we’re going to do this.’ As in hina-hype po namin ‘yung mga sarili namin. So ‘yun ‘yung sinasabi ko kanina na, ‘You know what Marco, wag natin sayangin ‘tong chance na ‘to. Let’s make the most out of it,” said Peralejo.
“I was really/ happy when I heard, kasi– it’s always kind of hard working with someone new, working on that chemistry, working on that comfortability, But knowing that it’s you, I knew that /it was going to be easy,” Gallo added.
Series director Theodore Boborol recounted their experience with Gallo and Peralejo from Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7 in 2016.
“Siguro hindi siya ano– honestly ngayon pa lang kami magkakawork ni Heaven dito sa Viva. I haven’t worked with her when we were in ABS-CBN. Si Marco pa nga andiyan lang sa Viva ngayon, but siguro ‘yung pinaka makakatulong sa akin is ‘yung before I became a director, I was also the story editor of Big Brother. So pareho kami ng pinanggalingan.”
