At the media conference for Secrets of a Nympho, which LionhearTV covered on November 18, producer Lino Cayetano thought that network wars have ended.
Cayetano stressed that Philippine entertainment is much more than one network, comparing the showbiz industry to a family.
“So, more than anything, it teaches us that this industry is a family. We’re bigger than one network. Ang pamilya natin ngayon, we need to band together because we’re going to show the world how wonderful our actors and stories are, so parang I think tapos na ‘yung panahon ng network wars.”
He then cited the collaborations between networks during the pandemic, noting how it pushes showbiz forward.
“Now, I’m so happy that GMA and ABS are doing a collaboration. Channel Five is working with ABS. Viva is launching big shows with all the different networks. So ang naturo sa amin, is we really we have to band together as one. We push the entertainment industry forward.”
He also discussed how he and Rein Entertainment built relations with major media companies in the past decade.
“So I think, we really cultivated and nurtured our relationships over the last ten years, and ‘yung boss namin doon, si sir Deo Endrinal and Tita Cory Vidanes, noong nagpaalam po kami, imbis na nagtampo, sinuportahan pa kami. They gave us one of our biggest projects, ‘yung Bagman.
“And si Boss Vic naman po, fifteen years ago, muntik na akong lumipat from ABS-[CBN] to Viva, for a long-term contract. Hindi po kami natuloy, I ended up doing some big projects, with ABS. Pero imbis na magkatampuhan, naging mas close pa kami ni Miss Val na nakatrabaho ko din sa ABS, and we knew that one day we will be working together.”
As for working with younger casts, Cayetano asserted how newcomers grow into experts and leaders.
“I think maganda na rin po na nandito ‘yung young cast natin. Really we credit it to really building bridges, no, napakaikli ng buhay, napakabilis ng panahon, ‘yung PA ngayon, AP na bukas, Boss na ngayon.
“‘Yung assistant director noon, batikang direktor na ngayon. ‘Yung bagong artista kahapon, bida na.”
