On November 10, at the media conference for Tanduay’s 2023 Calendar Girl, which LionhearTV covered, actress Kylie Verzosa urged people to stop pitting women against each other.
Verzosa urged people to value women for who they are.
She then voiced her opinion about the inclusivity of beauty pageants nowadays. She shared, “Nakakatuwa po na naging mas inclusive ang mga beauty pageants ngayon like Miss Universe and I hope they continue ‘yung pag-accept ng different types of women…so noong ginawa po ‘yun ng Miss Universe parang wow, it really opened my eyes to inclusivity. What’s more now– it’s 2022, 2023 next year. I hope for more changes.”
As for her being the 2023 Tanduay Calendar Girl, Verzosa considered the opportunity as an achievement for her career. She expressed surprise, “Parang, ‘Ha? Sure ba? Ako ba talaga?’ Parang, I couldn’t believe it because–for me, it’s always been a dream of mine ko to be a Calendar Girl. To be a Calendar Girl of Tanduay is– such an accomplishment sa career ko.”
She began her showbiz career after winning Binibining Pilipinas International and Miss International in 2016.
Verzosa starred in Ikaw Lang Ang Mahal and Sisid. She then bagged the Best Actress Award in the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) for her role in the 2021 thriller, ‘The Housemaid.’
