The K-pop idol is back in the Philippines with her girl group, Lapillus, to promote their album and upcoming showbiz engagements in the country.
Not only did Lapillus member Bessie slay Maymay Entrata’s chart-topping hit with her insanely good vocals, but she also flexed her natural-sounding Filipino accent with her Amakabogera cover. Given her impeccable delivery of the Tagalog lines of the song, it seems Bessie got impressive coaching from Chantal Videla, who is also part of the group. Before joining K-POP, Videla tried her luck in local showbiz first. She was notably part of ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, Star Magic.
Bessie’s cover of the OPM hit was dropped yesterday, November 6, by her group on its official YouTube page. The 2-minute video has already garnered 55,000 views as of this writing.
The release of the video coincided with Lapillus’ return to the Philipines, just two months since successfully holding their first Philippine fan meet. The group is slated to pull off another leg of fan meet and other activities in various cities in the country, including Manila, Cebu, and Davao. They are expected to make guesting on various television and radio programs during their stay.
Their sibling boy group, TFN, is expected to join their tour. Both groups are managed by MLD Entertainment, the same group that produced the girl group, Momoland, whose hit, Bboom Bboom, became a sensational K-POP anthem in the Philippines.
Bessi along with the rest of her group is reportedly going to do a secret project which is yet to be announced in the coming days.
