At the media conference for Tanduay’s 2023 Calendar Girl, which LionhearTV covered on November 10, actress Kylie Verzosa reacted to JKN Global’s acquisition of the Miss Universe Organization.
Verzosa favored Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip’s acquisition of MUO, clarifying that her heart remains with Miss International.
She also highlighted the push of beauty pageants for inclusivity with their candidates. She said, “Nakakatuwa po na naging mas inclusive ang mga beauty pageants ngayon like Miss Universe and I hope they continue ‘yung pag-accept ng different types of women kasi para sa akin napakagandang bagay ang maging isang mother, isang wife, parang for me it should be celebrated.”
As for the current Miss International Philippines, Verzosa voiced her support for Hannah Arnold. The beauty queen expressed, ” She’s really been preparing for this for years now. I know the struggles she’s been doing this pandemic…now sasabak na po siya and I’m so excited for her and I can’t wait for the seventh crown for the Philippines.”
Verzosa entered showbiz winning Binibining Pilipinas International and Miss International in 2016. She became the sixth Philippine candidate to hold the crown.
As for her acting career, Verzosa starred in the 2022 films Ikaw Lang Ang Mahal and Sisid. She then bagged the Best Actress Award in the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) for her role in the 2021 thriller, ‘The Housemaid.’
