In a media conference on November 7, K-pop boy group TFN (formerly known as T1419) discussed why they revamped their name and image.
“[The new name expresses] the resolution of the members to continue searching for new things by doing various kinds of music and performance,” leader Noa explained.
The group debuted on January 11, 2021, as TFN1419, which meant “Teenager Fourteen Nineteen,” referring to the time the members met as teenagers ages 14 to 19.
However, on October 17, MLD Entertainment announced that its rookie boy group T1419 is rebranding to a new name, TFN, which means Try for New.
Noa emphasized, “We edited the meaning of TFN, ‘Try For New.’ We will continue to search for new things by doing various kinds of music. Also, I think it’s an easier name to say and remember.”
TFN is a nine-member group composed of five Korean and four Japanese members. The members signed with MLD Entertainment, the agency behind the girl group Momoland.
The boy group is currently in Manila to hold a back-to-back mall tour with their sister group Lapillus.
Member Gunwoo expressed his excitement for the upcoming fan signing, “We are so excited to meet our Filipino fans. We want to make unforgettable memories with them. See you in fan meeting!”
Noa, Sian, Kevin, Gunwoo, Leo, On, Zero, Kairi, and Kio are the names of its members. Member Sian is currently absent from the group schedule due to sensorineural hearing loss.
TFN will have a fan meeting on November 12 in TriNoma and November 13 in Glorietta.
