Korina Sanchez shut down the basher on October 30, referring to herself and Karen Davila as “plastikada.”
Sanchez interviewed Davila for her Net 25 show, ‘Korina Interviews.’ She posted a photo of herself and Davila during their conversation, which elicited mixed reactions on social media.
One of the most notable comments came from a netizen who referred to the two broadcasters as “plastikada,” or fake.
One netizen commented, “Nagkalat ang orocan at tupperware. Totoo ba pinahubad mo ang blazer mo kay Karen ng sinuot sa ABS-CBN?”
Sanchez responded to the comment, “Hindi. You’re not only misinformed, you’re miserable (laughing face and thumbs down emoji).”
During the interview, Sanchez and Davila addressed the rumored rivalry between the two, especially after the latter replaced Sanchez as an anchor in TV Patrol. Sanchez explained that it was a decision of the network’s management, and she had no personal animosity towards Davila.
Davila agreed, citing that both had busy schedules during their stay in ABS-CBN. She expressed, “Feeling ko because workwise, parang it was such a competitive environment where we used to work. Parang, they would always pit people against each other, perhaps…Napakahirap din nu’n for any woman, ha. Kasi nga you feel minsan either may hinahabol ka or hinahabol ka.”

Sanchez began her career as a broadcast journalist in ABS-CBN in 1986. She became one of the most notable news anchors and hosts on the Kapamilya Network, where she helmed the Sunday Magazine show Rated K.
As for Davila, she began her career in 1995 under GMA Network. She then moved to ABS-CBN and became one of the news anchors for the new programs Bandila and TV Patrol. She also hosted the documentary show The Correspondents.
The rumors about their rivalry began when Davila replaced Sanchez as a news anchor in TV Patrol in 2004.
