On November 16, broadcast journalist and TV host Korina Sanchez reaffirmed her calling as a newscaster.
At the media conference for TikTalks, which LionhearTV covered, Sanchez highlighted her 25-year career as a broadcast journalist.
“Mayroon naman, forever ‘yun. Hindi naman nawala ‘yun. Kumbaga parang, para kasing doon ako tumatatak ng dalawampu’t-limang taon hindi ba? Hard news.”
However, she noted how she enjoys the lighter side of things as a host.
“I am really /enjoying the lighter side of things because honestly– I really don’t take myself that seriously. Oo sa news kailangan siyempre seryoso, factual, a whole organization is behind every news item.
“But as a person, if you take yourself that seriously, talagang life is short. And I want to live very long kasi maliliit pa ‘yung mga anak ko. Three years old pa lang sila. I have to be one-hundred twenty years, kaya kailangan maraming tawanan.”
As for her career, Sanchez revealed her promise to her family about fulfilling her goals in the next three years.
“That’s a question I ask myself, everyday these days. Pero, ang paalam ko naman kasi sa pamilya ko, sa asawa ko, just give me three years to do everything that I want to do. Kasi, siyempre kailangan na din ng mga bata ng tutok.
“Pero, feeling ko naman–with the quality time that I spend with my kids, gusto ko rin makita ni Pilar eh, later on, pag nakita niya autobiography ko, lahat ng mga pinaggagawa ng nanay niya, na palagay ko ganito dapat na hangga’t may maibibigay ka, ibigay mo.”
Despite being busy, she emphasized how she values her health.
“I assure you, I have eight to ten hours of sleep a /day–I force myself for my mental health. I take very/ good care of my mental health and wellness all over.
“I’m very conscious of my health kasi I do a lot of work, I do a lot of thinking, lalo na ngayon, di lang ako talent, producer din ako.
“It takes a toll on your health, so if you don’t take care, talagang marami ang magsa-suffer, pero I’m very /happy to make contribution in people’s lives at the time in the pandemic that they needed it most and to make a contribution in the industry ngayon na parang ginagapang pa natin ulit ang normalcy.”
As for her TikTalks, the talk show is also hosted by Alex Calleja, Kakai Bautista, G3 San Diego, and Pat-P Daza–to premiere on December 3, 2022, via TV5 and Cignal TV.
