The Kapuso primetime royalty expressed her awe and pride in her current TV series as it marked a new milestone in Philippine TV.
Barbie Forteza, the lead star of the top-rating, Kapuso period-fantasy drama, Maria Clara at Ibarra, is proud that her new show has practically marked a new milestone in Philippine television.
During our exclusive interview for RAWR Nation, the Kapuso star sent her gratitude to fans, who keep making the show the number one in the country. She took her time to thank her Kapuso bosses for entrusting her with such a big project and role.
The actress highlighted GMA Network’s promise that Maria Clara at Ibarra would mark an important milestone on local television.
“Sobrang nakakatuwa, sa totoo lang. Hindi lang within Maria Clara at Ibarra’s team, but also the Philippine drama, industry, di ba? Namamayagpag ang ating Philippine history sa primetime, which makes very proud kasi part kami ng ganong project,” she said, noting how the show succeeded not just for their team, but for the local industry, more importantly.
“Totoo nga ang sinabi ng GMA, when they launched this show na this is the next important milestone sa TV, sa GMA primetime. And true enough, na-prove naman. So nakakatuwa kasi maraming nagkakagusto at maraming nakaka-appreciate ng programa.
“(What GMA promised when the show was launched, is indeed true! That the show will be the enxt important milestone in Philippine TV, in GMA primetime. True enough, they proved it. That is why it makes me happy to know that a lot of viewers like and appreciate the show,” she noted.
She then shared that many personalities from the Academe have been extending their gratitude to the show, for stirring the public’s curiosity into rediscovering history and our past.
“Natutuwa nga ako kasi, even sa Twitter, kapag nakakabasa ako, na may mga professors, mga teachers, na nagpapasalamat sa amin, dahil ibinabalik daw namin ang pagmamahal sa Pilipinas.
“(I’m glad that whenever I go to Twitter to check for feedback, there are ones from professors and teachers, who thank us for drawing the public into loving the Philippines again),” she shared.
Maria Clara at Ibarra keeps its winning streak on primetime, by practically erasing the competition on free TV, according to the ratings provided by Nielsen Philippines. The show’s success is not a surprise, as its rich screenplay, cinematography, and portrayal of its actors, continue to receive great commendations from casuals and critics, alike.
