Ivana Alawi is reigning supreme on Netflix Philippines, as her TV show, A Family Affair, recently took the top spot, on Netflix Philippines Top TV shows chart, ending 2 Good 2 Be True’s 26-week reign. The KathNiel series started streaming on Netflix, in May of this year, with episodes made available on the platform 72 hours ahead of its free TV broadcast
A Family Affair debuted on the streaming service a day before its finale. It quickly found its way to the Top TV shows chart nand ultimately ended 2 Good 2 Be True’s no.1 streak.
The series told Cherry Red’s (Ivana Alawi story), a woman brought by fate to the Estrella mansion. The Estrella brothers Seb (Jake Ejercito), Drew (Jameson Blake), Dave (Sam Milby), and Paco (Gerald Anderson)–the last two of whom fell in love with her and vied for her affection. Her quest to find the real murderer of her father would inevitably expose Red to the darkest secrets of the household she promised to serve.
The series featured an all-star ensemble composed of seasoned and newbie stars, including Edu Manzano, Lito Pimentel, Ana Abad-Santos, Lloyd Samartino, Aya Fernandez, Heaven Peralejo, Claire Ruiz, and Rans Rifol.
The series also featured the primetime comeback of Dawn Zulueta via a guest role.
Shot in Masbate as a backdrop. The series showcased the emerging cattle and rodeo industry of the country and featured the province’s picturesque spots. The series aired 95 episodes in total.
