On October 20, Viva artist Iana Bernardez said she considers her resemblance to her mother, Angel Aquino, an honor.
At the media conference for ‘Mahal Kita Beksman’, which LionhearTV covered, Bernardez felt honored when people recognized that she looked like her mother.
“And also ‘yung masasabi kong kahulma ko siya, kamukha, it’s an honor, because sino ba namang mahihiyang kamukha daw siya ni Angel Aquino kasi siya ‘yun eh, ang ganda niya eh. So, natutuwa din po ako.”
She then talked about how using her name when she entered showbiz helped balance the pressure on her as an actress.
“It’s such an honor po to be her daughter… At least ‘yung entrance ko sa kahit anong gawin ko,…as Iana Bernardez muna, and then after na lang ‘yung, ‘Ah kaya pala, kaya pala magkaboses, magkamukha,’ so the pressure doon medyo nababalanse.”
She then cited her goal of building her identity and name in showbiz.
Bernardez cleared out, “Super pressure nga po” while recounting Aquino’s advice about owning her space. Her mother reminded her to own her space, and her own character and just be sincere as possible.
Iana Bernardez stars in the Viva romantic comedy ‘Mahal Kita, Beksman’. Alongside her are Christian Bables, Katya Santos, and Keempee de Leon.
The upcoming romantic comedy film from Viva and IdeaFirst, directed by Perci Intalan, will be released in theaters nationwide on November 16th.
