On November 3, artists Heaven Peralejo, Andre Yllana, and Frost Sandoval discussed the advantages of having a family member from the showbiz industry.
At the cast reveal for the upcoming series The Rain in España, Peralejo acknowledged the benefits of being associated with someone from showbiz but emphasized her goal to establish her career.
“‘Yung advantage, siguro mas mabilis lang tumatak sa tao. Pero, hindi po kasi–how can I say this? Parang, I’m making my own name so I don’t think na sobrang laking part talaga ho. I’m making my own name as Heaven eh, as an actress who can portray a lot of characters, and give the role justice.”
As for Yllana, he considered having family members from the showbiz industry as a disadvantage because of the pressure.
“Sa totoo lang po, wala po talagang advantage. Wala. Ako po sa totoo lang po, parang disadvantage pa nga po kasi siyempre ‘yung pressure. Kasi parehas pong artista ‘yung mga magulang ko, ‘yun po maraming i-expect ‘yung tao sayo. Para sa akin lang naman po ‘to.
“Wala po talagang advantage, disadvantage po para sa akin. ‘Yun ang naman po kasi pressure po talaga, pero may mga ilang instances po na nagamit mo rin siya as an advantage. Pero di naman para gamiting pa.
“Siguro may mga instances lang na, ‘Oh di ba anak ka ni ganito, anak ka ni ganyan? Edi ganito ka, ganyan ka, ganito ka, o dito ka na.’ May special treatment po. So para po sa akin talaga, disadvantage po.”
Sandoval cited the advantage of his family giving him advice about his career and projects.
“I think the advantage when it comes from internal– I can come to my Mom, whenever I’m not confident with my craft, I really want to learn. But I guess we’re speaking of advantages.
“She paved the way for a path, and I’m following it, but the /same, I’m trying to make my own. Kagaya nila Andre and Heaven. Those are the advantages that I see, the internal, and of course, along the way, we want to make our own way, our own path.”
Heaven Peralejo is the niece of former actresses Rica Peralejo and Paula Peralejo, Andre Yllana is the son of Jomari Yllana and Aiko Melendez, and Frost Sandoval is the son of Lara Morena.
Gwy Saludes’s The Rain in España stars Peralejo, Marco Gallo, Krissha Viaje, Gab Lagman, Aubrey Caraan, and Bea Binene.
The cast includes Nicole Omillo, Yllana, Gabby Padilla, Sandoval, and Francis Magundayao.
Under the direction of Theodore Boborol, the series produced by Viva starts filming in mid-November.
