The year’s theme underscores the importance of togetherness and becoming the embodiment of love this Christmas.
GMA Network no doubt has all the compelling reasons to celebrate the yuletide season this 2022, as it dominated the year and kept its place as the most watched and most profitable TV network in the country. That said, the Network’s newest TV station ID articulated very well that there are far bigger reasons to keep our local holiday traditions alive. One is easing out pandemic restrictions that brought us physically closer, but perhaps, emotionally and spiritually compact, too.
While the past two years had its moments of magic, Love is Us highlighted the bigger wonders of this year’s celebration. It serves as a sweet reminder that the essence of Christmas remains Jesus, the biggest reason we celebrate Christmas. It is also a testament to all of us being what Christmas is all about–and that is love.
It is, as we all know–the most important lesson and gift of Christmas.
Like the past station IDs, Love is Us this Christmas is another opportunity for GMA Network to showcase its ‘best of the best—its most prized stars and programs. You can easily see who is leading the network’s roster of stars by paying attention to who will be in the opening and closing frames of the music video.
Among those stars we saw during these important moments in the music video were Kapuso royalties, Jessica Soho, Dingdong Dantes, Dennis Trillo, Alden Richards, Bea Alonzo, Heart Evangelista, Michael V, and Marian Rivera.
Julie Ann San Jose, is undoubtedly the biggest homegrown Kapuso recording star, led her fellow All-Out-Sundays mainstays, most of whom are winners of several Kapuso reality shows. Love is Us this Christmas notably marks Zephanie Dimaranan’s first time being in a Kapuso Christmas Station ID. Stars of current and upcoming Kapuso shows, including the highly-awaited live-action adaptation of the hit Japanese mecha series, Voltes V, make an appearance in the music video.
It is hard to tell which of the Kapuso Christmas Station IDs for the last three years hit the heart more squarely. By this time, station IDs like Love is Us took a sound that seldom strikes differently than the last one, and it isn’t a bad thing, to be honest.
If anything, it just reaffirms the reality–that we need reminders like Love is Us every year to find great reasons to smile and keep going since we keep getting crippled by calamities every year before Christmas.
