TV host Boy Abunda admitted that he longs to return to the airwaves because he is afraid of becoming obsolete.
“Tito Boy,” as he is affectionately known in the entertainment industry, has been out of the spotlight since the COVID pandemic first struck in 2020.
Boy Abunda responded to questions about his network transfer in a PEP report on November 14; he said he just wants to get moving.
He then shared his desire to return to television, “But I wanna go back to television. That much I will say—I wanna go back to television.”
Abunda further explained, “Ako ay napunta sa digital platform by circumstance. Hindi naman ako digital expert, hindi naman ako digital native.”
He said he learned about the digital platform he can use to conduct interviews, but he has no idea what the future holds.
Meanwhile, Boy Abunda said that he wanted to be back on television as he knows he is close to becoming “laos.” He stated, “Malapit na akong malaos, let’s be very honest… I mean, for lack of a better word…If there’s one immutable law in the business, it is that nothing lasts forever.”
The TV host expressed that he wanted to continue doing what he does best.
Boy Abunda has a late-night talk show under ABS-CBN called Tonight with Boy Abunda. The show premiered in 2015 and went on a hiatus since 2020 after the Kapamilya network lost its franchise.
He then went digital with his YouTube show The Boy Abunda Talk Channel.
