On October 29, singer-actress Sarah Geronimo penned a lengthy apology letter via Instagram addressed to her family, particularly to her parents, with whom she has not on good terms for almost three years.
After it circulated online, the singer deleted or removed the apology letter, prompting the netizens to believe the disagreement between Geronimo and her family is still not settled.
Entertainment host Cristy Fermin discussed via a YouTube vlog segment of Showbiz Now Na! where they disclosed that Geronimo is still providing monetary aid to her family.
Geronimo’s “tainted” family relationship began when she tied the knot with Guidicelli in 2020 via a secret wedding.
Since the singer’s mother, Divine disapproved of the relationship–she showed up unexpectedly during the intimate ceremony and made a scene. It resulted the Filipino-Italian singer-actor Guidicelli punching a bodyguard.
This encounter got mocked and labeled as “divine intervention” by the netizens.
After a two-year hiatus, Geronimo returned with a brand new single, Dati-Dati, which some fans believe is an ode to her parents.
