At the cast reveal for the upcoming series The Rain in España on November 3, actress-turned-producer Chynna Ortaleza said she [always] dreamt of producing content like Charo Santos-Concio.
Ortaleza recounted her conversation with Viva’s head Vic Del Rosario about being a producer.
“Siguro malaking pasasalamat ko talaga kay Boss Vic, kasi kumbaga naniwala po siya sa akin, na feeling niya, ito ‘yung pagkakataon para maipakita ko sa kaniya ‘yung matagal ko na ring sinasabi sa kaniya na panaginip ko na maging producer.
“Lagi nga po niya ako binibiro na, ‘Oh, ikaw Chynna, lagi mong sinasabi sa akin na dream mong maging isang Charo Santos-Concio. So ito na ‘yung pagkakaton mo.'”
She also praised the team behind the adaptation of The Rain in España.
“So when he told me we were actually going to adapt the University Series, that’s /when I really committed myself to the project with Direk Ted, Gwy, and everybody on the Viva Films team, which I have to commend. Miss Nens, Gley, everybody has been working so hard on this.”
She also considered the project a ‘huge’ opportunity for their label, OC Records.
“And it’s a /big/ opportunity for OC records as well, because Viva has been trusting us for the past four years na po kasi talagang focused on /really producing good songs for the OPM Market. And also giving a chance to the young musicians that we/ take care of.”
She then talked about her and her husband Kean Cipriano’s involvement in the upcoming Viva series.
“Si Kean po talaga ang pulso pagdating sa music side, ako naman po ang pulso pagdating sa kung ano ‘yung field ko, which is the entertainment industry, and the creatives that we have to take care of.”
