After the pandemic and ABS-CBN’s shutdown, the network has not been able to hold overseas shows of this magnitude for more than three years.
ABS-CBN proved once again that it remains the dominant multicultural network in the US, after holding a very successful show in Las Vegas, Nevada, last weekend. On Saturday, November 5 (US time), thousands of Filipino spectators filled the world-renowned Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
Kapamilya young stars, as well as OPM icons, graced the event to perform in front of an ecstatic crowd.
Among those who were present during the event, are young stars, Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano a.k.a. DonBelle. The onscreen couple did not fly to the U.S. solely to join the #ASAPinVegas show, but also to promote their upcoming flick, An Inconvenient Love. The film will not only mark Star Cinemas’ return to Philippine cinemas but to American cinemas, as well.
Kim Chiu, Darren Espanto, KZ Tandingan, and Zsa Zsa Padilla, also joined the event to surprise their Kapamilya fans. Iñigo Pascual, Bailey May, Kye Echarri, Lovi Poe, Janella Salvador, Jane de Leon, AC Bonifacio, and ASAP Natin ‘To’s OPM icons, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Ogie Alcasid, Martin Nievera, and Gary Valenciano, also did not miss the show. Kapamilya P-POP groups, BINI and BGYO, went all out in giving the best performance to their fans in the U.S., who are seeing for the first time, since their launch in late 2020.
Jim Brickman, EZ Mill, and Bamboo performed for the nearly 10,000 spectators, as special guests. Several international stars, including American Idol alums, Jessica Sanchez, and Francisco Martin, and The Voice USA finalists, Vaugn Mugol and Cheesa Laureta, were also there to showcase their Pinoy pride.
Based on the photos and video clips shared by those who attended the show, it seems ABS-CBN is finally back-on-track to keeping its domination overseas. The Latest Comscore ratings in the US showed that The Filipino Channel (TFC) remains the number one Filipino channel overseas.
