On November 15, Kapuso star Andrea Torres shared that this is the first time in her career that she got acknowledged after gaining positive remarks for her role as Sisa in GMA Network’s Maria Clara at Ibarra.
“Hanggang ngayon medyo may tulala moments pa rin ako. Kasi first time mangyari sa akin ‘to sa career ko,” Torres spoke candidly.
The actress mentioned that she was intimidated in accepting the role, thinking she couldn’t do it.
“Sobrang thankful lang ako talaga. Kasi grabe rin ‘yung kaba at pressure na nafeel ko nung natanggap ko ‘to.”
Given the positive feedback, fans clamored for Torres to bag a Best Actress award for her role as Sisa.
She echoed the fans’ sentiments, “Pinagdadasal ko rin talaga. Goal ko rin kasi talaga. Gusto ko maexperience ‘yon, magkaroon ng trophy.”
She expressed her joy that the show is drawing positive interest from the younger audience.
“May positive siyang effect. Nagkakaroon ng interest ‘yung mga bata. Pinaka favorite ko ‘yung hindi na daw nila gagawing katatawanan si Sisa.”
Despite not being able to read the original novel, the actress revealed, “Nagworkshop ako ng maraming beses. Sabi ko nga okay na ‘yung over prepared kesa ‘yung hindi mo masiyado nagrasp ‘yung character.”
Since its premiere date, Maria Clara at Ibarra continues to draw interest from Filipino audiences.
