Aljur Abrenica admits that he was wrong in trying to fight his GMA Network management back in 2014.
The actor first came into prominence on the GMA Network after he joined the network’s talent search show StarStruck in 2006. He then starred in several Kapuso shows.
However, in 2014, he had a legal battle with his home network about being released from GMA. He claimed that the direction of his career did not align with his original plans.
In a YouTube interview on TicTALK with Aster Amoyo on November 18, the actor admitted that what he did back in 2014 was a mistake.
The actor shared, “Hindi ako nanghinayang, pero inaamin kong mali ako doon. May pinaglalaban kasi ‘yung both sides. May pinaglalaban ako, may pinaglalaban din sila (GMA).”
He added, “Looking back, I was with the wrong people. Pinagsisisihan ko ‘yung time na ‘yun dahil hindi ako nakinig sa tatay ko.”
He explained that he simply listened to the advice of the wrong people. Although his father tried to cut the wrong people off his life, Abrenica did not listen.
Referring to his legal battle with GMA, Abrenica said that it could have been dealt with silently instead of publicizing it.
Aljur Abrenica officially left the GMA network in March 2017 after his contract expired. He then joined the ABS-CBN network in August 2017 and got his first lead role with Asintado (2018).
He recently starred in the crime thriller film ‘Pula ang Kulay ng Gabi’ under the direction of Jojo Nadela. It also stars Zia Zamora, Rob Sy, Elijah Filamor, and award-winning actor Soliman Cruz. The movie is already available for streaming on AQ Prime Stream.
