Kim Chiu, the former Pinoy Big Brother’s Big Winner, expressed her gratitude to ABS-CBN for giving her another big opportunity as the main host of the upcoming talent show during the Dream Maker press conference on November 9.
Despite Chiu’s shortcomings, she was thrilled. “Alam ko naman sa sarili ko na hosting is really not my strength. Pero I’m trying and I’m very thankful for this big opportunity.”
The actress-host noted that she was pressured for the role because of people who doubted her. She further explained that unless people have seen the program already, they cannot know what it will accomplish.
Chiu admitted that if she wasn’t given the chance to host Dream Maker, she wouldn’t know if she could do it.
The ‘It’s Showtime’ host revealed that she did not prepare for the main hosting role because she had already learned a lot from her previous hosting gigs. She maintained, “Siguro po sa tulong na rin po ng PBB. Sa tulong na rin po ng Showtime. Nahasa na rin po siguro ‘yung hosting ko. Nagkaroon na rin ako ng sarili kong style.”
Sixteen years in the industry, Chiu assures her fans they will see a different Kim Chui in Dream Maker.
According to her, “Hindi ko ‘to napapakita sa mga nilalabasan ko, sa ASAP, Showtime, and PBB dahil may mga kasama ako. This time ako lang kasi mag-isa…makikita nila talaga na it’s fully Kim Chiu.”
The Cebuana star declared that through Dream Maker, Filipinos will have the chance to showcase their talent globally, “Ito na ‘yung way nating mga Filipino na ipakita ‘yung talent natin sa buong mundo.”
Through the survival show Dream Maker, ABS-CBN, in collaboration with South Korea’s MLD Entertainment and Kamp Korea, invited hopeful idols to make it big as part of an all-boy pop group.
Dream Maker will air every Saturday and Sunday beginning November 19th on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and Kapamilya Online Live.
