It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro was ignored by a friend whom he asked for help amid his rape allegation case.
On August 2022, the Court of Appeals (CA) again ordered the filing of rape and acts of lasciviousness charges toward Navarro.
Navarro surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for investigation. He got presented with a warrant of arrest with no recommended bail.
In Ogie Diaz’s YouTube vlog on September 26, he revealed that Navarro asked for help from a friend but was ignored.
“Seen zone lang,” Diaz said.
The talent manager did not disclose the identity of the ‘friend’, but he simply explained that true friends are those who stand by you in good or bad times.
“Hay naku, siyempre doon mo mate-test ‘yung mga tunay mong kaibigan sa panahong kailangang-kilangan mo sila.
“Kaya tama si Janus del Prado sa sinabi niyang, iba ‘yung personal friends sa taping friends or sa shooting friends or show friends.
“Masyado akong napaisip do’n. Oo nga, ang tagal ko na rito (showbiz) at kokonti lang ‘yung maituturing kong kaibigan sa showbiz. Siguro choice ko na rin na ito lang kami. Ito lang ‘yung circle ko hindi ko na dadagdagan pa ng iba.
“Dumating na rin kasi ako sa punto na nu’ng araw ako’y na-libel case rin talagang humingi ako ng tulong sa iba kaya markadong-markado sa akin pagdating sa pakikiramay unang-una ‘yung nanay-nanayan ko, si Ate Cristy Fermin, ‘yan talaga!
“Hararang ng bala for you. Hahanap pa ‘yan ng mga kakilala kung sino ang puwedeng makatulong, tapos si Ate Lolit (Solis).
“Mabibilang mo lang talaga sa mga daliri kasi ‘yung iba, dedma. Ay si Aiko Melendez isa pa ‘yan! Sobrang mahal ko ‘yan, in fairness!
“Anyway, dito siguro matatagpuan ni Vhong sa ganitong pagkakataon sa kanyang crucial omen ang matatagpuan at mararamdaman ang mga tunay niyang kaibigan. At siyempre ipinagpe-pray pa rin natin na manaig ang hustisya,” he said.
Meanwhile, Diaz also revealed that Navarro’s long-time friend Billy Crawford had shown his support to the comedian-TV host.
Rape allegations against Navarro were filed by Deniece Cornejo as she claimed that the TV host raped her back in 2014.
Currently, Cornejo’s team formally asked the court to transfer the detained Vhong Navarro from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Manila to the Taguig City Jail.
