Netizens then threw criticisms at the Singapore-based e-commerce company as well as at Gonzaga herself. People were disappointed that Shopee chose Gonzaga as their endorser.
On September 29, Toni Gonzaga was officially launched as Shopee’s endorser.
During the media event, the singer-host expressed her gratitude to the netizens who made her trend online.
“Since yesterday we are trending, today we are grateful for our netizens for the mentions and engagements, they are the reasons why we are here today,” she said.
Even her mother, Mommy Pinty, showed her support to her daughter on Instagram.

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from troubles/ from the hand of the enemy..Psalm 107:1-2. Thank you Lord for another blessing! Proud of you Tin ! Godbless netizens and ka maintenance,” said Mommy Pinty.
Gonzaga’s statement clearly showed that she is already used to bad criticisms about her.
To recall, in a YouTube vlog in 2021, the singer-host revealed that she does not reply to her bashers as they do not deserve her explanation.
“There are rumors that don’t deserve your answer, they deserve your silence,” she said.
