On October 25, Sam Concepcion confirmed that he is open to collaborating with Jake Zyrus.
At the media conference for Concepcion’s contract renewal with Viva Artist Agency, which LionhearTV covered, he considered the possibility of working with Zyrus again as a full-circle moment.
“Uy! Why not? That would go full circle, so I’m open to it.”
Concepcion and Zyrus both began their showbiz careers in the Kapamilya singing contest, Little Big Star in 2006.
He also talked about the other Filipino music artists he wanted to work with, such as Arthur Nery, Janine Teñoso, and The Juans.
“Actually nagmeet kami ni Janine Teñoso, noong pandemic, so I did–she re-released Umibig Muli. So I want to do more music with Janine. I love her. The Juans, I love those guys as well, madalas kong nakikita ‘yung mga ‘yun sa Coke, mga suki ng Coke. Arthur Nery, siyempre napakagaling. ‘Yun ‘yung mga favorite ko na artists ngayon dito sa Viva.”
He then recounted his projects under Viva, “A lot, Para sa Brokenhearted, I got to work with Yassi [Pressman]. Matagal ko na siyang hindi nakasama in anything until that time, and it’s a great movie, super proud of that one.
“Nakasama ko si Direk Digo [Ricio], na nakasama ko sa ibang project as a PD. And that was the first time that we had him as a director, my director also, first time. And that was a great experience.
“And then Indak, first movie with Nads, and dance film pa, na hindi laging ginagawa, so it’s a landmark, a landmark project for me.”
He also listed his concert with Billy Crawford and James Reid.
“Also–doing The Crew with two artists that I love and love listening to, Billy [Crawford] and James [Reid]. That was the music side, ‘yun ‘yung concert na hindi ko malilimutan.”
Concepcion signed under Viva Artist Agency in 2017 and worked on projects such as Joseph the Dreamer, Indak, and Para sa Broken Hearted.
He also released songs such as Diwata and Ikaw Ang while under VAA.
