Kapamilya star Ronnie Alonte said he’s willing to marry her girlfriend Loisa Andalio — if the world is about to end in 40 days.
Alonte made the remark during a recent press conference for the finale of the series, Love in 40 Days, on October 12 at the Dolphy Theater, which is now in its final weeks.
Asked if he would marry Andalio, who got a second chance to live in the story, Alonte answered in an affirmative way, “Oo, magpapakasal kami.
“Kasi 40 days na lang, mawawala ka na. Lahat ng pwede naming gawin, gagawin namin.”
Alonte, in jest, said that he’s ready to have seven kids with Andalio.
In the Kapamilya series, Jane (Andalio), an insurance provider, who rejected a marriage proposal by Edward (Alonte). Edward is out to prove himself as a scion of an influential clan.
After Jane discovered that Andrea (Mylene Dizon), Edward’s mom was behind an investment scam; and was involved in a murder attempt on her.
Andalio and Alonte go through a rough patch in the story — something they have experienced as partners in real life.
At the press conference, Andalio admitted that she and Alonte had encountered many struggles as a couple.
“Marami, marami po talaga,” she said. “Sabi nga nila, hindi naman puro masaya o happy-happy lang o walang problema.”
She said Alonte and her know the importance of dealing with minor issues before they accumulate and become makor problems, noting that addressing challenges at an early stage has saved them from gossips.
“Isa lang po ang usapan namin ni Ronnie: Kapag may problema tayo, hangga’t maaari pag-usapan, ayusin para ‘di lumaki,” she explained. “Kaya wala kayong naririnig na mga tsismis sa amin kasi ayaw na naming umabot sa ibang tao kung ang ending e magiging okay rin naman kami sa huli.”
Meanwhile, he said respect is the key to “keeping the fire burning” or “making their relationship strong” amid any challenges.
“Ako, sa akin, simple lang po [ang susi] — siguro respeto sa isa’t-isa. Kasi nirerespeto ko s’ya. Nirerespeto n’ya ako,” he said. “Bigayan po kami. Hindi po kami yung tinatawag na, ‘Uy baka ina-under ka nito’. Wala po sa aming ganiyan.”
The young actor assured Andalio that he’ll always be by her side even during their lowest times.
“Alam po namin na kung may darating na mga problema o pagsubok na mas malaki pa dun sa mga pinagdaanan namin, pag-uusapan namin [at] handa naman ako dun kung ano man,” he said. “Basta nandito ako palagi para sa kanya.”
Alonte and Andalio will mark their sixth anniversary in November or weeks after the end Love in 40 Days conclusion.
