The band recently dropped their latest single, which talked about enduring and growth in a relationship.
Returning to the OPM scene after their smash 2018 hit, Kahit Anong Sabihin Ng Iba, Pinoy pop rock band Unit 406, is all geared up to tell new stories through their music. The band consists of Gabriel Tagadtad, Chen Pangan, Timothy Sison, TJ Hollon, and Ash Vanguardia.
During the pandemic, the group started releasing their series of new anthemic tracks, that according to Gabriel Tagadtad, one of the group’s lead vocals–it’s meant to tell a continuous storyline. That storyline culminates with their latest single, Mahal Pa Rin Kita’, which is a rousing pop-rock anthem about what happens in relationships when the people inside them start confronting realities and challenges.
“Ang main idea ng four songs ay gawin siyang series of songs na may story about relationships.
“(The main idea in writing the first four songs is to create a series that tells a story about relationships),” Tagadtad told LionheaTV.
Earlier, he recalled how Unit 406 got formed in 2016. He started with ABS-CBN’s record label, Star Music, by writing songs for several artists, including Alex Gonzaga. As Unit 406, the band scored hits under Star Music, including Kahit Anong Sabihin ng Iba and the Bagani theme, Mandirigma.
With Mahal Mo Pa Rin Ako, the band shares a thing or two about second chances in a relationship and enduring the challenges that may come next to both parties. It traces back the happy memories when things are just starting to get exciting until the moments when you and your loved one are already comfortable enough to play the blame game.
It likewise looks beyond the present struggle and imagines a future when you and the love of your life are back to each other’s arms. It narrates a sincere promise of ensuring not to commit the same mistakes and fix the parts where the relationship went wrong.
“Pero overall ang concept niya, ay endurance sa relationship. It’s either endurance ng both parties or endurance mo as an individual, kung ano man ang mangyari sa worst situations,” Tagadtad shared.
Along with the other songs in the series, Hulaan, Kung Ang Puso, and Sa Kabila ng Lahat, Mahal Mo Pa Rin Ako is available for streaming on Spotify and other audio streaming services. An official lyric video is now also upped on the group’s official VEVO account on YouTube.
