On September 27, Kapuso star Kristoffer Martin admitted that he missed singing.
At the media conference for his single Di Ba? with the press, including LionhearTV, Martin explained that he had to put his passion for music on pause because of his busy schedule and the pandemic.
“Na-miss ko, because of the pandemic na rin kasi tapos na busy rin, ang dami ko ring ginawang show, tapos sabi ko nga, nami-miss ko nang kumanta.”
He then recounted how GMA Music offered to help him return to his musical roots.
“Sakto nga, noong mga humihirit ako na parang gusto ko ulit kumanta, biglang ayan na, si GMA Music gusto daw ikaw ulit mag-record. Oh yes, tapos nagbigay po sila ng–may mga options sila na binigay ito talaga ‘yung pinaka, tumatak sa akin kasi ang ganda ng pagkakasulat, ramdam na ramdam talaga ‘yung words.”
He also expressed excitement about doing a song in the Filipino language.
“Tapos na-e-excite ako kasi gusto ko talaga kumakanta ng Tagalog. Sa tatlong single ko pong lumabas, may mga offer silang–OPM pa rin naman, pero English siya. Sabi ko, iba pa rin kasi kapag kinakanta mo ‘yung wika ng Tagalog, sa wika ng Filipino, mas ramdam.”
Martin also recalled how they created the music: from the musical arrangement to the recording process.
“Natuwa ako kasi habang nire-record namin siya. Iba ‘yung excitement at fulfillment kasi for the first time na may ambag ako doon sa tugtog, na gusto ko ‘yung ganitong areglo, ‘yung gusto ko na feel ng kanta, ‘yung guitar solo akong pinalagay, may bridge part. Sabi ko, ‘Ang sarap pala kantahin ng isang bagay na alam mong may ambag ka.'”
Martin started his showbiz career in 2007 when he joined ABS-CBN’s Little Big Superstar.
He then worked on Kapamilya series such as Prinsesa ng Banyera, Kung Fu Kids, and Ligaw na Bulaklak.
Then in 2010, he joined GMA Network through Party Pilipinas, Endless Love, and Reel Love Presents: Tween Hearts.
He then starred in various Kapuso series, such as Munting Heredera, Pahiram ng Sandali, Kakambal ni Eliana and Kahit Nasaan Ka Man.
Now he returns to musical roots with the single Di Ba? under GMA Music.
