Kapamilya star Jake Ejercito and other Kakampink celebrities shared no regrets in supporting the campaign of former vice president Leni Robredo and former Sen. Kiko Pangilinan one year after the two running mates announced their candidacies.
On Friday, October 7, 2022, Twitterverse was flooded with tweets commemorating the start of the Pink Movement. The hashtag #KulayRosasAngBukas took the top trending topics again as people remember their Kakampink experience.
October 7, 2021, is the exact date when Robredo announced her decision to run for the presidency.
“Buong buo ang loob ko ngayon – kailangan nating palayain ang sarili mula sa kasalukuyang sitwasyon. Lalaban ako. Lalaban tayo. Inihahain ko ang aking sarili bilang kandidato sa pagkapangulo sa halalan ng 2022,” said Robredo in her declaration speech.
Her decision sparked the Pink Movement which was lauded not only in the country but in other parts of the world for its organic people’s campaign.
Pure-blooded Kakampink Jake Ejercito was one of the Kakampink celebrities who took to Twitter and celebrate the first anniversary of the Pink Movement.

Meanwhile, in line with the commemoration of the first anniversary of the start of the Pink Movement, the Team Leni Robredo group was relaunched and became BUILD Pilipinas. A volunteer group which aims to “nurture leaders who can create inclusive communities in the digital era.”
